Fruit & Nut Cheese Logs

How about a fruity, nutty and cheesy log that would be best eaten when it’s stuffed inside a crusty bun, eh?! The description sure sounds good, and the actual food is as delicious as how it was described. This spread is made with four kinds of cheese, namely: cottage cheese, cream cheese, quickmelt cheese and parmesan cheese. But even though it’s already filled with cheesy stuff, the presence of parsley and walnuts gives a twist on the taste and gives the spread a different kind of kick!

Fruta Fiesta Loaf Cake

Because of my cravings for homemade fruit cake, I was challeged to make my homemade fruit cake. And I call it “Fruta Fiesta Loaf Cake”. I made it look like a real fruitcake, though, the usage of an oventoaster cake mix, contributes to the ease in making such fruit cake, minus the rhum which is mixed when making the real fruit cake. At first, I thought it would only taste ordinary, or the typical taste of any fruit cake, but well, I was surprised when its’ taste is more than what I expected. Sometimes, it pays being experimental.

Going Banana’s

One of my favorite easy to make desserts is banana cream pie. Ever since I was in college, my family and I would always choose to have that Banana Cream pie after our sunday lunch get together. We are blessed that we have so many bananas all year round, not to mention, the best in the world. Banana Cream pie can impress everyone. However, the reality is that making this cream pie isn’t as easy as it looks like. One has to get armed with the skill and the knowledge of how the flavours should blend together in such a way that it would compliment each other, rather than a bland mixture of flavors.

La Loma’s Lechon Festival

It was just last April when time magazine hailed our very own, Lechon Baboy as the “best pig in Asia”. And today, La Loma held their annual Lechon Festival to prove that lechon, is indeed, the best pig in town. La Loma is a place in Metro Manila where lechoneros are seen everywhere. Each of which has their own version of lechon that is as tasty as the others. Everytime they held their lechon festival, the lechon are paraded down the streets, dressed in different costumes. After the parade, residents of La Loma feasted on the prepared 250-meters long for s very fun boodle fight for everyone.

A Taste of Spain

The much-awaited European Food and Wine Festival is slated for May 16 and 17 at the Rockwell Tent in Makati City. And a lot of European National Chambers and businessmen are expected to arrive. The public, on the other hand, is assured that the best and most in-demand products of Europe will be on sale! From British pies, German sausages, French pastries, Spanish Tapas, other food items and wines will be on sale! So if I were a European fan, then I would probably get ready with a lump of cash!
